Randall Hinton trial begins August 27, 2007

Witnesses - students who were allegedly abused and staff who allegedly witnessed the abuse at the Royal Gorge Academy in Cañon City, Colorado - will testify at Hinton's criminal trial scheduled to begin on Monday, August 27, 2007.
In January 2007 Royal Gorge Academy, previously known as Royal Peak Academy, director, Randall Hinton was arrested on multiple counts of third-degree assault and for reckless endangerment.

Randall Hinton worked at Tranquility Bay, a W WASPS facility in Jamaica. Kerry Layne Brown was a student there. Hinton was quoted as saying: ""I think I can remember Layne being pepper-sprayed more than once a day. I know he was pepper-sprayed more than two times a day. I don't think it would have been more than three times ... and from somebody on the outside looking in, I would say it would be abusive."
